Sustainability
Welcome to Beana Laponia, where the tranquility of nature meets the warmth of our hospitality. We are delighted to have you as our guest and share with you our commitment to sustainability.
At Beana Laponia, our values are deeply rooted in environmental friendliness and comprehensive responsible practices. As part of our dedication to sustainability, we are proud participants in both the Green Key/Activity and Sustainable Travel Finland programs. These initiatives guide us in fostering awareness across ecological, socio-cultural, and economic aspects, enabling us to set ambitious goals and take concrete actions.
To minimize our environmental impact, we actively work to reduce energy and water consumption, minimize waste generation, and enhance waste sorting practices. We’ve adopted a towel change policy on request and reduced the frequency of bed linen changes to further conserve resources.
To minimize food vaste we present thoughtfully crafted set menus for lunch and dinner, while our breakfast service combines a partial buffet with warm dishes served to your table by order.
Environmental efficiency is a priority, and we consistently monitor water, electricity, and energy consumption. With a commitment to a 5% reduction in our carbon footprint in the coming years, our geothermal heating system helps moderate emissions, aligning with our goal of sustainable practices.
Our procurement practices recognize the impact on the environment, particularly in the realms of food and chemicals. To mitigate this impact, we prioritize local produce, minimize food waste, and choose environmentally certified cleaning agents and paper products. Disposable tableware is reserved for exceptional cases only.
Respecting the environment and nature is integral to our ethos. We’ve enhanced guidance on responsible online activities and are diligently developing routes that prioritize sustainability. Our commitment extends to the well-being of our digital content, ensuring its quality and relevance are carefully maintained.
We sincerely hope that your visit to Beana Laponia leaves you with a sense of fulfillment, knowing that you have engaged with our shared responsibility towards a sustainable future.

HUSKY SAFARIS
It is extremely important to us that our dogs feel well and get to live a truly dog-like life, doing what they love.
We share our lives with these dogs from their very first days, and it brings us great joy to watch them grow into adults and discover what kind of individuals they become. In everything we do, we strive to ensure that each dog has the chance to live a good, fulfilling life and receive the care they deserve.
Training begins at a very early age. The puppies are socialized with people and other dogs, and they are gradually introduced to new places and situations. As they grow, they learn many essential skills, such as getting used to wearing a harness. When they reach about one year of age, they get to experience the joy of running in a sled team for the very first time.
Every dog is an individual with their own traits and needs. Our job is to get to know each one as the unique being they are and find the right place for them within our pack. Some dogs are very social and love everything and everyone, while others warm up more slowly and appreciate peace and quiet. Each dog also has their own role in the team: some are natural-born leaders who guide the team in the right direction, others are powerful pullers best suited for providing strength, and some are true all-rounders who can run in any position.
Sled dog racing is close to our hearts, and each year we aim to participate in both national and international long-distance sled dog races, such as Lapland Quest, Pasvik Trail, Gold Rush Run, and Finnmarksløpet. We carefully select the best dogs for our race team, and every year it also includes promising young dogs.
Each dog is equally precious and loved, which is why we have decided that all of our dogs get to live with us for their entire lives. As they grow older, we make sure they receive enough exercise and stimulation, always considering their individual needs. Some of our senior dogs enjoy spending time with customers and soaking up cuddles, while others remain energetic and eager to work well into their older years.
It is deeply important to us that every dog gets to spend their whole life at home — with us.
